Your home will probably be your single greatest investment in your lifetime.  It will also be your greatest opportunity to influence the amount of energy you consume - in fact the average home consumes more than twice the amount of energy as the average car on an annual basis.  We often think of purchasing an energy efficient car - why not demand an energy efficient house?  While all home designs are different, the SIP industry in general claims 50% energy savings associated with using insulated panels.  Since we do know that our product is superior in many different ways we believe that our savings can be even greater - and we have seen a number of our homes save 70% more than traditional stick construction.  And when one considers the total cost of living in a home - energy bills in addition to your monthly mortgage payment, we can actually come out LESS expensive than a stick-built home.  Right now we're spending a lot of time educating lending professionals, appraisers, real estate professionals, etc., on this "total cost" equation.

The NC State Energy Survey in 2005 stated that the average NEW home had energy bills of $200/mo - and those were 2005 energy prices.  If energy prices held steady, and you were able to save 50% - or even 70% - on your energy bills, your average home would have an extra $100 or more per month to spend.  The choice is yours - would you rather that $100/mo go into your pocket or are you happy simply giving it to the energy companies for the next 20-30 years?

Before you start to consider advanced HVAC systems, water heaters, Energy Star appliances, solar technologies, geothermal heat pumps, etc., you must first create a super insulated home protected from the elements. It makes little sense to spend extra money on energy efficient systems if your building envelope is leaking the same energy you're trying to save.
